UDINE. He was a fan of Dondo life. An enthusiast by nature. Everyone called him Giandomenico Menossi. And for all of him, who died at 61 after fighting a disease for two years, was there. “It was always there, and I really mean it without rhetoric”.
Who remembers him is the musician friend Rocco Burtone with whom he had helped to found in 1985 the association “Musicisti Tre Venezie” of which he was then vice president. “Dondo was not a musician – says Burtone – but he was always at the forefront of any project. He never said no and everyone loved him for it. He was fine with friends, he went straight on his way always carrying his innate enthusiasm.
He was such a beautiful person. ” Technical laboratory assistant in the dental technicians section of Ceconi, Giandomenico, son of the painter Antonio, known as Toni, Menossi, one of the protagonists of post-World War II Friulian painting, was very fond of music. In fact, he had been among the organizers, in 2018 and 2019, of the two “Reunions” of customers and managers who had made the history of the Manhattan club, in Viale Palmanova in Udine, starting from 1982. Not only that, he also participated in the singing competitions.
“Even for that event – continues Burtone – he got to work and it was a great party”. A life in color, in short, that of Dondo who leaves his wife Giusy and two children. Bright, lively, brilliant. Those he will want even at his funeral. Yes, because Dondo asked not to wear black at his last farewell. “He wants the funeral to be a party – tell the family, his wife Giusy and their children Lara and Mattia – because for him this is just a goodbye”.
