entertainment">Along with bassist Krist Novoselic and Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear, who accompanied Nirvana on tours, Grohl still holds jam sessions and often songs come out of them. “We like to be together. If there are instruments around or if we’re near the studio, we’re going to jam,” Grohl told in The Howard Stern Show.
entertainment">“We like to mess around a bit and sometimes when we do, numbers roll out. When we’re in the studio, we record that too. So there’s new material, but we’ve never done anything with it. We are more friends jamming than it is some sort of big official reunion.”
It sounds the same
entertainment">During the jam sessions, no one takes over Cobain’s role as a singer. “It’s all very casual. We don’t feel the pressure to make something the world needs to hear. We do it for fun and a lot of it is very cool.” The musicians together still sound like Nirvana, Grohl thinks. “If you put the three of us in a room and make a sound, it sounds the same.”
entertainment">The artists have been on stage together a number of times in recent years. For example, they performed at a ceremony in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2014 and California Jam in 2018.
