The parents of a teenager who was mugged in Liverpool city center say something must be done to prevent other children from being affected.
Andy Barr of Anfield said his 14-year-old daughter Carla was attacked near Queen Square bus station on Saturday, June 5th.
Carla’s father says she was alone waiting for the bus home when a gang of teenagers started beating her.
He says witnesses told him that around 13 girls and four boys participated in the attack.
The 35-year-old told ECHO: “My daughter was on her way home when she was attacked by a crowd of teenagers who were whistling in downtown.
“Obviously you know all about the gangs from the articles that have been published in the past few days.
“She just got home and had to take the bus from Queen Square.
“You just attacked them, they were all drunk and drunk.”
To make matters worse, Andy said the gangs posted the attack on social media and he watched some of the footage.
His daughter knew one of the attackers and claims that they posted the violent videos around.
He added, “There have been videos posted online and a few clips sent to me, but it’s all edited stuff on Snapchat or whatever.
“People will say they are just kids but they are ready to put it online and do another show of her.
“These are bastards, you would never have dreamed of that when you were children.”
Fortunately, the attack was stopped by a woman who was also waiting at the bus station and a couple leaving a nearby pub.
Carla’s father said the result “could have been much worse” had the strangers not stepped in to help.
After she got Carla out of the situation, the stranger dropped her off at home and called her parents.
About the moment she received the call about the attack, Carla’s mother Terriann Jones told ECHO, “I had to have a woman call me to say she had helped. The summary ends.
