Daily cases of COVID-19 in DKI Jakarta has increased again in recent times. Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria admitted that one of the reasons for the increase in cases was the Lebaran cluster.

In fact, the addition of coronavirus case for two days in a row it broke the 2000s mark. The details are 2,096 cases as of June 10, 2021 and 2,293 cases as of June 11, 2021.

Seeing this, the Gerindra politician warned residents to be disciplined in enforcing the COVID-19 health protocols (prokes).

“We ask all citizens to be disciplined in implementing health protocols, don’t ignore them, don’t be careless, must stay alert and implement 3M, 4M, 5M as best as possible,” he said.

“Even though we have exceeded more than 50%, even 60% of the vaccinations. But that doesn’t mean we are more relaxed. But we have to be more disciplined,” continued Riza.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government previously revealed 2,008 active cases originating from the Lebaran homecoming cluster in Jakarta. Active cases come from 988 families who have been contacted since May 21, 2021.

“From the identification of the homecoming cluster from May 21 to June 10, 2021, there were 2,008 positive cases from 988 families,” said Head of Disease Prevention and Control at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Office Dwi Oktavia in a written release, Thursday (10/6/2021).

The existence of the homecoming cluster affected the number of additional COVID-19 cases as of Thursday, June 10, 2021. Of the 12,304 people tested today, 2,096 tested positive for COVID-19.

As many as 51 percent or 1,070 positive cases of which were the results of contact tracing at the puskesmas whose RT had positive COVID-19 findings. The rest, 1,026 cases, came from health facilities in DKI.

“If you look at the addition of cases evenly, there are 43 sub-districts that contributed the most cases, namely Cengkareng 109 cases, Cipayung 80 cases, Jagakarsa 80 cases, Duren Sawit 71 cases, and Kebon Jeruk 68 cases,” he said.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 Task Force reported that DKI Jakarta Province experienced the most significant increase in daily Corona cases. Corona cases increased by 302 percent in 10 days.

“Furthermore, DKI Jakarta became the province with the most significant increase in cases, where in just 10 days the cases increased by more than 300 percent. Where on June 1 the daily cases were only 519 cases, and on the 10th yesterday the daily cases reached 2,091 cases. The BOR in DKI Jakarta has reached 62.13 percent,” said the spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, at a press conference, Friday (11/6).
