The ‘Defend !! La Pública’ platform, together with Necessary Healthcare and AMPAS Unidas, has called for this demonstration in Murcia, coinciding with International Family Day.
The mobilization started at 11:15 am from the Plaza Circular and has continued through Constitución and Gran Vía until concluding at the Puente de los Peligros.
This group has explained that the objective of the demonstration is “to defend ours, our families, from the attacks that the regional government inflict on us every day.”
Thus, he has pointed out that in the Region of Murcia “we are at the tail of the percentage of vaccinated nationwide; we have carried out a full course of blendedness in all stages that has curtailed the fundamental right of our children to education and our public transport is dying “.
“Our Mar Menor is dying between our fingers; the frontal attack on the lives of our elders has been confirmed in the disaster of the management of the residences; the dismantling of early care sinks our families into loneliness and abandonment by the Administration, “he added.
Likewise, from United Teachers they have affirmed that Murcian families will take to the streets to “claim the dignity that our public services deserve, which are the only ones that can ensure our defense and our protection.”
“What good are the empty words of content of a regional government that abandons its citizens?”
For the platform, “the pandemic has only served us to verify the precariousness of the theater that they have tried to sneak in as a reality.” For this reason, it has vindicated “the concept of family as the nucleus of our society”, which “reflects the reality of our neighborhoods and, for the well-being of our families”.
“The family that makes up an elderly man who lives alone; the family of two lesbians with twins; the family of a couple who decides not to have children; the family created by three retired friends who choose to share a rented apartment because the pension is not enough for more; the migrant family that works with their hands, that cares for the elderly, that sustains our economy and gives us its greatness; the family that is born of a heterosexual couple; the family, not of blood, the one we choose and that makes up our tribe”.
In this sense, Docentes Unidos has demanded “quality public services that correspond to the dignity that all of us who live in our region deserve.”
