New York, London – Otterfing: paper pigeon art in a Bavarian garden

Munich – As is well known, necessity makes people inventive. The same thing happened to the artist Andres Hönig from Otterfing, who had an idea during the corona-related culture break: He made art to walk by.

In his garden in Otterfing, Hönig has installed an elaborately programmed light show that is accompanied by selected music. Walkers got at least a bit of art enjoyment during the lockdown during the Easter and Christmas season. Now the Otterfinger has started the next outdoor art project. This time one size bigger.

Hard to miss: In the Bürgerbiergarten, guests can also follow the European Championship. In addition, many restaurateurs offer in the city center.

Together with the Munich artist Michael Pendry, Hönig creates art in his garden that has already been seen in cities such as New York, London and Washington.

“Les Colombes”: Paper pigeon art in Otterfing only this weekend

“Les Colombes” is the name of the project. Hundreds of pigeons folded out of paper seem to be flying through Hönig’s garden – artfully accompanied by a light installation. The open-air project on Otterfinger Wendelsteinring has been on view every day from 9 p.m. on June 4th and until June 13th.

The large version of the pigeon show can currently be admired in the Washington National Cathedral in Washington DC.
