A12 towards the German border closed tonight to salvage truck

Rijkswaterstaat will close the A12 highway between Arnhem and the German border from 9 p.m. tonight to store a truck loaded with cattle feed.

The truck drove through a guardrail this morning and ended up in a ditch, writes Broadcasting Gelderland. Due to the accident, there has been a traffic jam in the direction of Germany for hours.

The intention was to tow the overturned truck immediately, but because it is a few meters lower in the ditch, that was not possible. The right lane is closed and screens have been placed around the truck.

Rijkswaterstaat thinks the salvage work will take several hours. A detour route will be set up from Arnhem for traffic to Germany.
