Searching for Earth-like planets in space, NASA announced that they found a “strange” planet 90 light-years away.
The average surface temperature on this planet, where a year lasts only 24 days, is very similar to Earth.
It is stated that the planet called “TOI-1231-b” revolves around a red dwarf star. The planet orbits extremely close to its star relative to Earth.
NASA said TOI-1231-b is close in size to Neptune.
However, the energy of the star is very low compared to the sun. Therefore, the temperature on the surface of the planet is very close to the earth. It is stated that “liquid water can be found” on the planet, which has an average temperature of 57 degrees.
Scientists looking for traces of life in space say that there may even be clouds in the atmosphere of the planet, which they describe as “strange”. With the new researches to be done on the planet, it will be tried to determine which gas the atmosphere consists of.
