The linguistic understanding and expressiveness of children is promoted above all by creating a variety of language occasions – be it by looking at picture books together in the family, a song to start the kindergarten day or dealing with digital toys, for example in the area of radio play media. Digitization has significantly expanded the spectrum in recent years. As part of the two-year qualification program “Sprachschatz-Bibliothek und Kita Hand in Hand” of the Specialist Office for Public Libraries in North Rhine-Westphalia, numerous media-pedagogical methods to promote language and media skills were developed, tested and turned into event offers in the form of Impulskarten summarized.
