Counterintelligence officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) exposed document forgery mechanism for residents of the occupied areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions and Crimea. Illegal business was organized by a resident of the Dnieper.
This was reported by press service SBU. It is noted that the attackers falsified documents to obtain the official status of a migrant for the residents of ORDLO and the peninsula. They also facilitated their official legalization through Ukrainian institutions in government-controlled territory.
Among the “clients” of the group, according to the intelligence services, there are members illegal armed groups of the so-called “DPR” and persons involved in the sanctions lists.
According to the “scheme”, they were issued new identity cards. In the passports of citizens of Ukraine, most often expired, pasted in new photos, and the data on the back confirmed fake seal of the State Migration Service.
“Through the presence of a stamp of the registration service in the forgery, the data on registration of the place of residence was entered into the document, which made it possible to obtain the status of a migrant person. The customers submitted the falsified package of documents to the migration service, where they received new internal and foreign passports,” the SBU said.
The legalization mechanism operated for a year, it was used by almost two dozen people.
During the search, forged documents, seals and stamps of state bodies were seized from the defendant.

“Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 of Art. 358 (forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the issue of notification of suspicion to the organizer of the scheme is being resolved,” in the SBU.
The exposure of illegal activities was carried out under the procedural leadership of the Left Bank District Prosecutor’s Office.
