The cruciate ligament is okay and the ligament is okay, which means that Niclas Ekberg escaped the worst types of knee injuries. However, he has injured an internal ligament in his knee and will be out of action for six to eight weeks, THW Kiel writes in his website. Sweden will start the Olympics on July 24, in a little over six weeks.
It was during yesterday’s Kiel match against SC Magdeburg that the accident occurred. Ekberg got Harald Reinkind and Magnus Gullerud over and had to leave after 55 minutes.
Ekberg has been examined in Germany and it turns out that neither ligaments nor cruciate ligaments are off. However, he has injured an internal ligament in his knee and will therefore be out of action for six to eight weeks.
– Six to eight weeks without games is realistic. Now we hope that, despite the injury, he will be able to fulfill his dream of playing the Olympics again, says the club’s doctor Dr. Frank Pries to the website.
