Brewers beat Reds 5-1 with Garcia’s homer

Avisail Garcia homered and drove in another run, and the Milwaukee Brewers continued their streak by defeating the Cincinnati Reds 5-1 on Tuesday, their fifth straight win.

The Brewers, leaders of the National League center, came in after sweeping Arizona in a four-game series, and have won 10 of 11.

Cincinnati lost after sweeping a four-game series with St. Louis.

Adrian Houser (4-5) allowed a run in 5 1/3 innings and the Brewers bullpen shut out Cincinnati for the rest of the night.

Reds starter Sonny Gray worked three innings, allowing two hits and striking out five, before injuring his leg warming up for the fourth. Sean Doolittle came out for the Reds and Garcia sent his second pitch into the left field stands on his 12th homer.

For the Brewers, the Mexican Luis Urías 3-1 with a run scored. Venezuelans Avisaíl García 4-2 with one run scored and two RBIs; Omar Narváez 4-1 with one scored.

For the Reds, the Venezuelan Eugenio Suárez 3-0.
