US investigators say they have secured most of the money that a group of hackers extorted from a pipeline operator. The Justice Department announced on Monday that 63.7 Bitcoin with a current value of 2.3 million dollars had been recovered. The cyber attack on the operator Colonial Pipeline severely restricted the fuel supply on the US east coast. The hacker group “DarkSide” was held responsible for the attack. In mid-May, they announced that they had lost part of the ransom. Colonial claims to have paid almost five million dollars. The Bitcoin exchange rate has recently fallen.
