The victims went for an evening walk last Sunday and stopped at an intersection when they were hit.
‘Three generations wiped out’
The police have not released the names of the relatives, out of respect for the relatives. It is clear that a 74-year-old woman, a 46-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl died. The youngest victim (5) is said to have serious but not life-threatening injuries.
“Three generations have been wiped out in one fell swoop,” London Mayor Ed Holder wrote in a statement. “Let me be clear: this is a mass murder committed against Muslims.”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Twitter that he was “shocked” by the news. “Islamophobia has no place in our communities. This hatred is insidious and must stop.”
Worst attack since 2017
The attack in London was the worst against Canadian Muslims since 2017. In January of that year, an armed man broke into a mosque in Quebec and fired around it. Six people died and nearly 20 others were injured.
