Detecting and responding to the rehabilitation needs of patients with a commitment to permanent or transitory mobility is the main objective of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Unit which will include the new Claudio Vicuña Hospital in San Antonio.
The unit will be framed in a comprehensive rehabilitation model with a multidisciplinary and biopsychosocial approach, providing diagnostic and therapeutic support to units such as Critical Adult Patient, Neo-Pediatric Intermediate Treatment, Dialysis and new specialty consultations.

NEW EQUIPMENT
The service will have various therapeutic support equipment and equipment distributed in each care facility.
For their part, the Equipment professionals of the Project Technical Unit highlighted that “with regard to the kinesiology, speech therapy and medical care box, These will be equipped with stretchers, ergonomic chairs, scales with height rod and blood pressure monitors. The medical box will have an electromyograph, which is used to evaluate the health of the muscles and the nerve cells that control them. The treatment boxes will have the necessary implements for the care of professionals, considering ultrasound, ultrathermic and electrostimulator equipment, as well as equipment for speech therapy. “
The service will also have equipment to make orthoses and splints in a separate enclosure. And the adult and children’s gyms will have various physiotherapy equipment, stretchers, treadmill and exercise bike.
