Bad news for Arkadiusz Mlik: the Polish striker will not be admired at the European Championship. Due to a knee injury, the former Ajax player has to put an end to that.
That is what the Polish federation says. Even before the training camp of Poland, things went wrong for Milik, who was injured during the last competition match of Olympique Marseille. He reported not fit to the Polish federation.
It concerns a knee injury and therefore the tournament comes too early for him. Poland has tried everything to get Milik fit with a special schedule, but without success. The decision was made on Monday: no European Championship for the former Ajax player. National coach Paulo Sousa has not called up a replacement for Milik, who is going back to his boss SSC Napoli for rehabilitation.
Poland plays in the group stage of the European Championship against Slovakia, Spain and Sweden. The first game is next Monday.
