Former US President Donald Trump said in a televised interview that bitcoin “appears to be a scam”. According to Trump, it is a “scam against the dollar” and action should be taken against the cryptocurrency. His statement already caused a drop in bitcoin.

During an interview with FOX Business, Trump said that he does not invest in stocks these days because they are too high and so he does not invest in bitcoins. He also thinks that it looks too much like a scam or scam. “I don’t like it because it’s another currency that competes with the dollar… I want the dollar to become the currency of the world. I’ve always said that,” Trump said.
This is not the first time Trump has criticized the cryptocurrency. In 2019, the price of bitcoin already fell by about $10,000 when Trump said he was “not a fan of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies”.
