Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – North Korea (North Korea) made a surprising statement. Country Kim Jong Un it condemned Israel and called it turned the Gaza Strip into “the greatest slaughterhouse of mankind and a place of slaughter of children”.
The statement was officially issued by the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, last weekend. This is related to the violent conflict between Hamas and Israel last May.
“It is no exaggeration to say that the entire Gaza Strip has been turned into a huge human slaughterhouse and a place of slaughter of children,” wrote Newsweek, Monday (7/6/2021).
“As soon as the bombings ended, (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu and the Israeli authorities tried to hide their crimes of killing even children.”
North Korea also insists Israel is responsible for expelling Palestinians from their country by illegally expanding Jewish settlements. The country also said Israel had sown the seeds of hatred by suppressing existing peace.
Last May the war that broke out between Hamas and the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip killed 240 Palestinians, including children, and 12 people in Israel, including foreigners. At least 100,000 people have lost their homes in the Palestinian territories.
The ceasefire was finally reached after 11 days of conflict. Permanent peace talks are underway but no resolution has yet been reached.
North Korea has long recognized Palestinian sovereignty. In 1990, the former supreme leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Il once assisted the Palestinian ambassador to the country Mustafa Safarini with fertility treatments, as quoted NK News.
There has been no comment from Israel on this matter.
