Chain Barceló already has dates for the gradual opening of its establishments in the province of Huelva. Reservations for the next summer season have been reactivated for three weeks and the operator expects a better summer than last year.
On May 14, the Barceló Punta Umbría Mar will open its doors. It will be the first to do so and will coincide with the celebration of ‘Spains Masters’ de Badmintón, which will be held in Huelva from May 18 to 23. On June 4, it will be followed by the Occidental Isla Cristina and the Barceló Isla Canela, in Ayamonte. By that date it is expected to have the arrival of international tourists through Portugal. The last to do so will be the Punta Umbría Beach Resort, whose opening date is scheduled for June 18. This last hotel, due to its large size, needs more fine-tuning work and needs a larger volume of reservations to keep it open continuously. Those are the scheduled dates, but they could also be brought forward, depending on demand
The hotels are already working on the preparation and cleaning of the facilities to receive the first guests.

The vast majority of scheduled events last year at the Barceló Chain in Huelva have finally passed to 2022. This year there will be one or two major events. One of them will be that of a pharmacist that has scheduled its annual congress for October in Punta Umbría.
The Festival Village, which brings together some 10,000 young Portuguese people on their end-of-year trip, will not be held this year either.
