“Matrix 4” is due to hit the cinemas on December 23, 2021. While we are still waiting for a first trailer, it has now been announced that the star-studded straggler sequel has one more prominent name on board: Christina Ricci.
After the rumor mill began to simmer again and again for years, before nothing came of it again, the time has actually come: “Matrix 4” will be in the cinema on December 23, 2021! Again there are not only the original stars around Keanu Reeves (as Neo), Carrie-Anne Moss (as Trinity) and Jada Pinkett Smith (as Niobe), but also a lot of prominent newcomers. One of them is an actress who has been kept secret so far:
Like among other things Deadline reports, Christina Ricci is in “Matrix 4”. The information comes from current press material in which Ricci’s name appears. The unveiling follows over six months after filming was completed in November 2020. It is not known in which role we will see the actress.
Screen comeback
Ricci was seen at the side of Michael J. Fox (“The Hard Way”) or Cher (“Mermaids Kiss Better”) at a young age. The 41-year-old celebrated her breakthrough with the leading roles in family-friendly horror adventures such as “The Addams Family” (1993) and “Casper” (1995). This was followed by appearances in cult classics such as “Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas” (1998) and “Sleepy Hollow” (1999) as well as in the Oscar-winning “Monster” (2003) by “Wonder Woman” maker Patty Jenkins – Ricci has been around since then However, it is seen less and less on the screen. That could change again after “Matrix 4”.

The fact that she is part of the latest “Matrix” part is not surprising, however. After all, director Lana Wachowski is known for relying on the same actors over and over again in her films – and Ricci was also involved in the wicked anime adaptation “Speed Racer”.
Where is the first “Matrix 4” trailer?
After the potential title of the film, “Matrix Resurrections”, was revealed last February, we are still waiting to this day for not only an official confirmation of the title, but also a first trailer. After the shooting was completed last year and the film should start in a good six months, we assume that we will see a first “Matrix 4” trailer by summer at the latest – and then finally get tangible details about the content of the film, which was previously kept under lock and key.
“Aquaman” villain Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, “How I Met Your Mother” star Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas (“Quantico”) and those from “Game Of Thrones”, ” Star Wars 7 ”and“ Marvel’s Iron Fist ”are known to Jessica Henwick.
