Vienna vaccinates
750,000 people have already received the first CoV vaccination in Vienna. That is around 40 percent of the Viennese population. While the city is now preparing the vaccination for the 12 to 15 year olds, the over 20 year olds should get it at the end of July.

The city is currently vaccinating the 55 plus age group, high-risk and high-risk groups, as well as companies, explains Susanne Drapalik, President of the Vienna Workers’ Samaritan Association. She gives an outlook for the over-20s: “I assume that we will manage the first stitch at the end of July and beginning of August. It depends on how much vaccine the government gets and passes on to Vienna. We are confident that it will work and that we will soon be able to vaccinate the boys who would like to go out and party. “
Younger with company vaccinations
The vaccination for 12 to 15 year olds is currently being prepared, the vaccination should start in June. The group can already make a note of “when the vaccination will take place, I can’t say yet,” says Drapalik. She is satisfied with the company vaccinations. “There are really many companies that are taking advantage of the offer.” That is why many younger people are already taking part.
The city is prepared for the announced delivery failures of up to 25 percent of weekly deliveries, says Drapalik. “The City of Vienna has decided that everything that is required for the second stitch is in stock. It is important that you get the second stitch in the four to six weeks. Everything else is passed on to first stitches. “
Pfizer vaccine in June for second stitches
The vaccine from Moderna is now mainly used for first stitches. Then there is the serum from Johnson & Johnson. The Biontech / Pfizer vaccine is mainly reserved for the second stitches because of the failures.
There are still no major delays, she says. “If the vaccine comes, we’ll stick with the scheme. It can only move back a little at most. It is adjusted weekly depending on the delivery. ”In addition, Vienna will receive a total of 30,000 vaccine doses from Lower Austria by the end of June. This is a compensation for Lower Austrians who were vaccinated in Vienna.
