Picket in Moscow

An administrative protocol was drawn up against the activist on participation in an uncoordinated public action.

Moscow police detained at the Lenin mausoleum on Red Square, a solo picket participant Ruslan Osipov, who was holding a poster Wake up we have a tsar again – Wake up, we have a tsar again, OVD-Info reports.

Osipov stood in a solitary picket for about ten seconds, after which the police approached him.

The picketer was taken to the Kitay-Gorod police station, where OVD-Info lawyer Sergei Telnov came to see him. An hour and a half after the arrest, Osipov was released. An administrative protocol was drawn up against him on participation in an uncoordinated public action. The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow will consider his case on June 17.

Participants in single pickets in Red Square are regularly detained, after which they are usually fined by the courts. In court decisions, Red Square is seen as a place adjacent to the presidential residence: formally, single pickets are not prohibited there, but since these are social and political events, they need special permission from the Kremlin.
