The 2020-2021 school year was rich in emotion for the two young people apprentices in refrigeration and air conditioning, Baptiste Daie and William Deguingand. In May 2021, they received from the hands of Carine Blanchet, deputy director of La Châtaigneraie high school, in Mesnil-Esnard, near Rouen (Seine-Maritime), their hard-won gold medal in the departmental and regional competition for the best apprentice in France.
“Given the sanitary conditions, it happened in a small committee, in the presence of Laurent Ternois their teacher,” says Carine Blanchet.
National Medal for William Deguingand
The big day is yet to come for William Deguingand since he won the national title of best apprentice of France at Cholet, for the 2020 edition. “We are proud of him! », Exclaim with one voice, his classmates. The event will take place on June 21, 2021 at the Paris Opera. “We will be 277 young people, all trades combined, to receive the medal, in the presence of personalities. Me, I will go with my mother because we can only be accompanied by one person ”, specifies William.
When asked how he feels, the young laureate replies: “I am quite proud, too, especially to have gone to the end. It gave me autonomy and confidence in my abilities. And then, I am very happy because, thanks to this competition, my company, LANEF, wants to take me on a work-study program for my BTS, next year! “. For the time being, William is concentrating on his Bac: “I have the writing left on June 17 and 18 …” And on June 21, direction Paris for the ceremony which he will bring back, no doubt, memories for a long time. .
