The so-called Casa Rosa, headquarters in Seville, capital of the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interior of the Junta de Andalucía, has hosted this Wednesday the presentation of the promotion festivities of new bullfighting values that every year organizes the Andalusian Association of Bullfighting Schools ‘Pedro Romero’.
The event was attended by, among others, the counselor Elijah Bendodo, your deputy counselor Antonio Sanz, the general director of Public Shows, Miguel Briones; the president of the Andalusian bullfighting schools, Eduardo Ordonez; the manager of the Real Maestranza, Ramon Valencia, who has received the gold badge from the ‘Pedro Romero’ Association; the elder brother lieutenant of the master corporation, Santiago Leon; he also businessman Jose Maria Garzon, and bullfighters and teachers from the different schools: Ruiz Miguel, Jose Luis Galloso, The almond tree, Pepe Luis Vargas, Spartacus, Juan Carlos Landrove, Ruiz Manuel, Diego Ramos ‘El Merlo’, Juan Repullo, etc.
As for the dates and places of the festivities to be held at the different levels of competition, they are as follows:
XXIII Cycle of Calves in Practical Classes
Saturday May 15th in Camas (Seville). At 11:30 am, 1st selection with years of Chamaco for Miguel Pariente, El Gali, Manuel Orgaz, José Martínez Librero, El Abarrate and Curro Padilla.
Saturday May 22 in Algeciras (Cádiz). At 6:00 p.m., 2nd selection with yearlings from the Rodeo for canito, Tomás Jiménez, Javier Pinteño, Pablo Lozano Carrasco, Enrique Álvarez Arana and Juan Jesús Rodríguez.
Saturday May 29 in Úbeda (Jaén). At 6:00 pm, 3rd selection with yearlings from Ruiz palomares for Ruiz Fandila, Ángel Delgado, Andrés Membrines, Pedrito Aparicio, Martín and Dennis Martín.
Saturday June 5 in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz). At 7:00 pm, 4th selection with yearlings from the Rodeo for Pablo Mata, Alex Marsical, Alberto Muñoz Quevedo, Javier Ragel, Armando Bustos and Martín Morilla.
Saturday June 19 in Ubrique (Cádiz). At 6:00 p.m., 5th selection with Torres Gallego for Plata Oliva, José Luis de la Torre, Yeray González, Miguel Ángel Velázquez, Francisco Lupión and Antonio Santana.
Saturday June 26 in Algar (Cádiz). At 6:00 p.m., 6th and last selection with years of Isabel Sánchez de Alva for Álvaro Casasola, Mario Flores, David Bocanegra, Gustavo Martos, Manuel Sanz de la Puerta and Ángel Pérez Mariscal.
Saturday October 16 in Estepona (Malaga). At 5:00 p.m., the grand finale with the bullfighters selected from the Castillo de Azuel cattle ranch.
XXVII Cycle of Novilladas without Picadores
Five selection festivities will be held, all of them at 6:15 p.m., in the squares of Antequera (Malaga) on Saturday July 3, Constantina (Seville) on the 10th, Huéscar (Granada) on the 17th, Aracena (Huelva) on the 24th and Villaluenga del Rosario (Cádiz) on Saturday, July 31.
The first two semifinals will be in Roquetas de Mar (Almería) on Saturday August 7 and Navas de San Juan (Jaén) the 14. Finally, Almedinilla (Córdoba) will host the grand semifinal on Saturday, August 21, and seven days later, on August 28, the grand final of this cycle will take place in Villacarrillo (Jaén).
All these celebrations will be broadcast on Canal Sur TV.
XXII Andalusian Meeting of Bullfighting Schools
Finally, the bullring of Utrera (Seville) will host from September 8 to 12 the four scheduled bullfights on the occasion of this regional meeting, with the festivities beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Remember that the Andalusian Association of Bullfighting Schools ‘Pedro Romero’ is currently made up of a total of 27 entities to which the one of Antequera will be incorporated shortly. They are the following: Sevilla-Amate, Miguel Mateo ‘Miguelín’ from Algeciras, Ubrique, Almería, Baeza, Camas, Francisco Montes ‘Paquiro’ from Chiclana, the Bullfighting Circle from Córdoba, the Municipal from Écija, the ‘Frascuelo’ from Granada, Jaén, La Algaba, La Línea, the Diputación de Málaga, Ronda, the ‘Rafael Ortega’ of San Fernando, Seville, Atarfe, ‘La Gallosina’ of Puerto de Santa María, Lucena, Campo de Gibraltar, Baza, Motril, ‘El Volapié’ from Sanlúcar de Barrameda, the ‘Antonio Osuna’ from Osuna, Úbeda and Utrera.
