Fabio Quartararo rode the Yamaha YZR-M1 at the Catalunya circuit, Saturday (5/6/2021) evening WIB to win the pole position in tomorrow’s race. The Monster Energy Yamaha rider carved the best time of one minute 38.853 seconds.
This French rider outperformed the Ducati riders in position 2-3. Jack Miller from the factory Ducati team will start second, while Johann Zarco from the Pramac team completes the front row.
2020 MotoGP world champion Joan Mir will start at number 10, right in front of the old racer, Valentino Rossi. While Marc Marquez still struggling and this time starting from the 13th grid.
For Quartararo, this is the fifth pole position in MotoGP 2021 and all of them have been picked in a row since the Portuguese MotoGP. But will that guarantee his victory?
As per records, from four times he started in pole position before, Quartararo only managed to win twice, namely in Portugal and Italy. He had to settle for finishing 13th in the Spanish MotoGP and third on the podium in France.
