The MeSES interdisciplinary expert group presented new recommendations for coronavirus measures. This time she focused on the obligation of respiratory protection and comprehensive testing in companies and schools.

Given the favorable evolving epidemic situation, MeSES proposes to end the obligation of comprehensive testing in schools and businesses. The recommendation links to the values of the development of the spread of the disease broken down at the district level, where the confirmed incidence is less than 25 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants in 14 days, reproduction number R is long-term lower than 1 and the share of positive tests is lower than 4%.

“In case of new members joining the permanent team, or in case of prolonged absence (eg due to illness, leave, etc.), we recommend that these individuals be tested before re-enlistment, preferably by PCR,” he said in an opinion. released on Friday night.
–
He adds that in these cases it would be appropriate for subsequent testing to take place during the incubation period.
–
The recommendation also proposes an amendment to the rules for wearing veils. “Do not require respiratory protection in a permanent team (eg in the classroom, office, workshop, etc.), but maintain mandatory respiratory protection in common areas and when meeting other teams, including through the workplace,” says MeSES.

At the beginning of May, the government decided that mandatory testing once a week will continue in companies, non-profit organizations and offices until the end of June. The obligation also applies to self-employed persons. Regular testing in schools is expected until the end of the school year, then again in September. Mandatory respiratory protection continues to apply in indoor public spaces in the Czech Republic. Children and teachers must also wear veils or respirators when teaching in the classroom. The Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (for YES) will again discuss with the hygienists and the Minister of Education Robert Plaga (for YES) about the possible abolition of the drapes during teaching after the weekend. Vojtěch stated that it would depend on the development of the epidemic situation.

MeSES acted as an expert advisory body to the Ministry of Health. After the office, headed by the then Minister Petr Arenberger (for YES), decided in mid-May to end its cooperation with the group, it continues to function as an independent group of experts. It issues opinions and recommendations.
