Only travelers who have been fully vaccinated against the corona virus will escape quarantine and a corona test in Belgium next summer. Anyone who has only had one shot of a two-shot vaccine must also undergo a test, the responsible Belgian ministers have agreed.

The rule applies, for example, to Dutch people who want to go on holiday in Belgium, but also to Belgian holidaymakers who return from abroad. People in transit, for example by car on their way to France, did not have to deal with quarantine and tests. Children under the age of 12 do not need to be tested when they return from abroad.
Anyone who has been vaccinated will soon be able to demonstrate this with the European corona certificate. Belgium wants to start with this travel ticket, which can show with a QR code that the carrier has been vaccinated, tested negative or cured and therefore protected, in less than two weeks.
Two free corona tests
People returning from high-risk areas where new and dangerous corona mutations are circulating will have to quarantine for ten days, Prime Minister Alexander de Croo said during the press conference. This also applies to people who have already been fully vaccinated, because the effectiveness of the vaccines is not always proven for all mutations.
The government previously announced that Belgians who have not yet been fully vaccinated can receive two free corona tests next summer. That is one more than the Netherlands intends.
second shot
Two doses of most corona vaccines are required. The Janssen vaccine alone provides sufficient protection after just one shot. Many Dutch and Belgians do not expect to receive their second shot until later in the summer.
Neighboring countries such as France and most likely the Netherlands also require full vaccination from travelers to avoid quarantine and testing.
