Kaag points out that the European Union has new sanctions agreed against Lukashenko. In the House of Representatives, the discomfort is increasing about the slow implementation of those sanctions, according to many, Kaag emphasizes that the sanctions are now being completed. According to her, the aim is to hit the Belarus regime as hard as possible and to be able to change things.
She once again called on the government in Minsk to release prisoners. But she added that she is not naive: “Of course Lukashenko doesn’t say, ‘There are sanctions coming, so it’s going to change right away.'”
