Alexander Sørloth, who was active at FC Groningen in the past, told the fans of Trabzonspor summoned to leave him alone. The Norwegian striker was recently linked with a return to the Turkish club, after which he received more than three million comments on an Instagram post.
Sørloth was active on a rental basis at Trabzonspor a year ago. In that season he was good for 24 league goals. The Trabzonspor chairman recently said he would like to bring the 25-year-old attacker back to Turkey. That sparked enthusiasm among the club’s fans: under Sørloth’s most recent Instagram post, more than three million comments were posted. The 31-time international was called upon en masse to return to his old employer.
Normally, Sørloth gets around two thousand comments under his Instagram posts. The player of RB Leipzig says on Twitter that he was also called and contacted via private messages by Trabzonspor fans.
Sørloth has had enough of that now, he says in a Tweet that he has since deleted. “Hey Trabzonspor fans, I appreciate your love and support, but please stop calling and messaging me,” he wrote. “It makes my life very stressful. Enough is enough.
Sørloth has had a fairly disappointing season at Leipzig. In competition, he was good for five goals and two assists in 29 games. Sørloth is currently preparing for the European Championship with Norway.
