Through his Twitter account, Netanyahu called on all right-wing Israeli politicians to reject the new government. This is one of Netanyahu’s last attempts to put up a fight against the Israeli opposition.
“All legislators elected by vote from the right must oppose this dangerous left-wing government,” he said.
It was the first public rejection by Netanyahu, who heads the far-right Likud party, of centrist politician Yair Lapid’s announcement. Also read: Archbishop of Jerusalem: Plans to Expel Sheikh Jarrah’s Family Will Not Work
Previously reported, last night Lapid officially told the Israeli president that he had reached an agreement with his political allies to form a new government. The notification was given about 35 minutes before the deadline set at midnight Wednesday

Lapid’s main partner is the nationalist group Naftali Bennett, who will serve as the first prime minister under a rotation between the two men. Lapid, 57, a former TV presenter and finance minister, will take over as prime minister after about two years.
Their coalition government will consist of small and medium-sized parties from across the political spectrum, including for the first time in Israel’s history a party representing Israel’s 21% Arab minority.
