Although we cannot yet assess quality, AMD has published some information on Computex that is worth paying attention to in itself.
The first is that it will not only offer on / off options, but will offer four quality presets in addition to the native resolution. From these, we can conclude from the example of Godfall that in “Ultra Quality” it will increase the performance 1.6 ×, in the “Quality” mode 2 ×, in the “Balanced” mode 2.5 × and in the “Performance” mode 3 ×.
The second surprise is wide compatibility. As in the case of FidelityFX, CAS does not lock AMD’s compatibility on the latest generation – two of its own graphics cards, but has prepared a solution that also works on competing GeForce, at least the GeForce GTX 1000 (Pascal), GeForce RTX 2000 (Turing) a GeForce RTX 3000 (Ampere).
From Radeons, Super Resolution will run on Radeons RX 500 (GCN 4 / Polaris), Vega (GCN 5 / Vega), RX 5000 (RDNA / Navi) and RX 6000 (RDNA 2 / Navi 2x), including all Ryzen processors with integrated graphics.
Super Resolution will support 10 game studios and engines this year and will be compatible with more than 100 models of graphics cards and integrated graphics processors when released. It will be released on June 22. AMD invites users to the site https://www.amd.com/fsr reported a possible game in which they support Super Resolution (FSR) support.
