The extremely unusual 1981 Mercedes-Benz 380 SL Roadster will be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas. The car was finalized by the American studio Niko-Michael Coachworks, as a special order for the singer Wayne Newton.
The car looks very original, but also very different from the classic Mercedes. The fact that we have a Mercedes in front of us is understood only by a three-pointed star on the radiator grille. And this is because almost all body parts have been replaced.
The reserve is especially remarkable wheel on the boot lid. In addition, the Mercedes 380 SL is decorated with slightly kitschy gilded elements. The roadster has a movable hardtop, but the soft roof has been left.
The tuning is only optical and does not affect the technology of this Mercedes-Benz. Under the hood is a 3.8-liter V-shaped eight-cylinder engine with 218 hp. village, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The mileage of the car is only 3,200 km.
