Rubén Blades is also known for his role in the field of acting. The artist has been nominated for an Emmy and participated in 50 films and television series, among which can be counted Fear The Walking Dead, in which he played the character Diego Salazar.
While in the movie Hands of Stone (2016), which tells the story of the Panamanian boxer Roberto Stone hands Durán, played the role of businessman Carlos Eleta.
In 2003 Blades takes on the shoes of a former agent of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, in the film Once Upon A Time in Mexico, in which he works with renowned actors such as Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Johnny Depp, Eva Mendes, Danny Trejo, Enrique Iglesias and Willem Dafoe.
He also participated in a Spanish documentary Paco de Lucía: The search for the guitarist Paco de Lucía. In 2015, the film won the Goya Award for Best Documentary, and was nominated for Best Documentary by the Platinum Awards.
