Three police officers were wounded in a shooting on Wednesday night in the city of Wilmington, in the state of Delaware, reports the local police.

The officers were taken to the hospital and remain in stable condition.

As reported by NBC, a shooter opened fire from inside a building when officers were on the street.

There is a strong police presence at the site. A SWAT team has surrounded the building from which the criminal shot.

For its part, FOX points out that the suspect has barricaded himself in the building.
