One of the main objectives of Chelsea FC for the next season is Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian attacker was one of the requests made by Thomas Tuchel to Román Abramóvich, owner of the 2020-2021 Champions League champion. However, everything suggests that the prodigious forward will continue in the ranks of the Inter de Milan.
In an interview given to Belgian television, the 28-year-old footballer revealed that he had a first meeting with Simone Inzaghi, the brand new coach of the Serie A monarch.
“I already had contact with the new manager [Simone] Inzaghi. Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet … but it was a very positive conversation. There is also the challenge of doing it again (winning the League with Inter). I feel good at Inter “he told the VTM channel.
It should be remembered that Lukaku played at Stamford Bridge between 2011 and 2014. However, he only had 15 appearances and ended up being sold to Everton for 35 million euros. He is even remembered for having missed the last penalty for the ‘Blues’ in the 2013 European Super Cup.
He was close to returning when Antonio Conte was on the bench of the London club. A formal offer was presented to him, but he chose to accept Manchester United’s proposal.
The other option that Chelsea has in the pipeline to reinforce its attack is the Norwegian Erling Haaland. To get the services of the Norwegian gunner they will not only have to pay close to 200 million euros, but also compete with Manchester City and Real Madrid.
