The German Alexander Zverev (6th in the world) qualified for the third round of Roland Garros by beating Russian Roman Safiullin (182º) in three sets, 7-6 (7/4), 6-3 and 7-6 (7/1).
The German tennis player, who in the first round had many difficulties to defeat his compatriot Oscar Otte, a player from the previous round, in five sets, showed a more solid game this Wednesday and won more comfortably.
Zverev, 24 years old and one of the tennis players called to take over from the ‘Big 3’ (Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer), will be measured for a place in the round of 16 against Serbian Laslo Djere, who came back against his compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic to win 4-6, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 and 6-3.
