After a short break, Twitter is relaunching its certification process

Tuesday June 1, 2021, Twitter a ad the resumption of the certification process, which had been put on hold last week after receiving, unsurprisingly, too many requests that it was unable to handle.

Twitter will have paused requests for just five days

The break was ultimately short. After being shut down for three and a half years, Twitter relaunched the certification process on May 20, to the delight of users. Indeed, many of them wanted to claim the blue badge. However, the disappointment was great when ten days after this announcement, the social network indicated to pause the requests to obtain it.

Twitter had reported that the return of the certification process could take “Up to a few weeks”, depending on the number of requests received. More fear than harm, the shutdown only lasted five days.

Thus, it is again possible to claim the blue badge, and requests may continue to flow. It would therefore not be surprising if the certification system was brought to a standstill again in the months, if not weeks, to come. If this happens again, it will remain to be seen whether Twitter will choose to keep this mode of operation to certify accounts, or whether it will ultimately decide to opt for a new way of doing things.
