A man was shot dead late Tuesday afternoon in a village south of Toulouse, firefighters said, confirming information from the Midday Dispatch.
The firefighters intervened around 5:45 p.m. in the main street of the town of Saint-Michel, a village of just over 300 inhabitants about sixty kilometers southwest of Toulouse. On their arrival, the victim, a man of about 45 years old according to the Dépêche du midi, had already died.
The crime scene was frozen until the arrival of the gendarmes. Investigators from the Muret gendarmerie company cordoned off the area. The Saint-Gaudens prosecutor went to the site.
A wanted man
According to the regional daily, the suicide thesis was ruled out by the first elements of the investigation. A man is currently actively wanted by the gendarmes.
“We first heard a noise in his house which is in the center of the town. Then gunshots, several, ”a witness told the local newspaper.
