Novak Djokovic secured a straight-sets victory over Tennys Sandgren in the first round at Roland Garros on Tuesday.
The Serbian won 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 to book his place in the next round of the competition, as he showed his credentials in France. He will next face Pablo Cuevas on Thursday, June 3.
Djokovic will hope to win the French Open in order to secure his 18th major and cut the gap to Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer, who both have won 20 in their illustrious careers.
Djokovic has the second most victories at Roland Garros with 75, but he is still some way behind Nadal‘s 101.
