“Knīpas un knauķi” celebrates its 50th anniversary with a new album in digital format – “Emotion Researchers” / Article

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the children’s vocal studio “Knīpas un knauķi”, a new music album “Emotion Researchers” has been released – 12 songs about different emotions: joy, anger, happiness, sorrow, shyness, friendship, fear, peace, excitement, gratitude, envy and love. From June 1, the album will be available in digital format on various music streaming sites.

Although “Knīpu un knauķu” is the most joyful and friendly in everyday life, in 50 years he has experienced all the emotions to which the songs on the new album are dedicated. These are the emotions that children all over Latvia experience every day, so “Knīpas un knauķi” invites you to go on your emotional research journey together.

“Any emotions are natural, they do not need to be suppressed or controlled, but they are very useful to get to know to better understand yourself and others. It is said that music expresses what cannot be expressed in words, so I hope that the songs included in the album will be a great companion in the study of emotions, revealing the characteristics of different emotions and helping children better understand how they feel, ”says Edīte Putniņa, vocal studio Knīpas and sniffs ”and the head of the School of Silence.

There is one song dedicated to each of the emotions in the album. Lyrics for all songs were written by the author of children’s poems and lyrics Inga Cipe, but the music – by 12 composers, authors of many favorite songs: Andris Sējāns, Līga Celma-Kursiete, Ģirts Bišs, Laura Jēkabsone, Jānis Šipkēvics, Jānis Ķirsis, Anita Rezevska, Anita Rezevska, Edīte Putniņa, Andris Kontauts, Ēriks Ešenvalds and Sanita Sējāne.

The album will be complemented by special worksheets for emotion researchers for preschool and school-age children prepared by psychologist Iveta Aunīte and artist Estere Betija Grāvere. They will encourage them to identify and get to know their emotions through creative tasks and observational questions. You can listen to the album on music streaming sites.
