SAN FRANCISCO – Evan Longoria hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning before leaving the game with a sore right-side muscle, LaMonte Wade Jr. blew the wall in the next inning to support Johnny Cueto, and the The San Francisco Giants beat the Los Angeles Angels 6-1 on Monday night.
Cueto (4-1) tipped his cap and smiled as he walked away from the mound to the standing ovation of 13,144 in attendance after an impressive seventh inning in which he struck out all three batters he faced to end a stellar day. He allowed five hits and one run, struck out five and did not pass a passport.
Mauricio Dubón hit a two-out home run in the sixth off Angels starter Dylan Bundy (0-6). The Giants, who won three of four road games against the Dodgers to complete a 5-1 road series, have several home runs in six straight games.

CHICAGO – Javier Báez and Patrick Wisdom each hit two home runs, powering Kohl Stewart and the Chicago Cubs to beat the San Diego Padres 7-2 on Monday night.
Kris Bryant also blew the wall, helping Chicago get its seventh win in eight games. Bryant went 4-2 as he extended his hitting streak to 13 games, one short of his record.
Fernando Tatis Jr. hit his 16th homer and Wil Myers drove in a run, but that was it for the Padres.
Chris Paddack allowed five runs and six hits in four 1/3 innings in his first loss since April 27. The right-hander struck out six and handed over a passport.
