The Facebook subsidiary will also wait until the Personal Data Protection Act goes into effect in India. This was revealed by a senior Indian government official. If it has been approved, WhatsApp will regularly send reminders to accept the new policy and may not disable any features.
This decision is something that WhatsApp has now officially made. They have also clarified this on their official support page with a note of reminder. “No one will delete their account or lose WhatsApp functionality on May 15 because of this update,” WhatsApp wrote.
The instant messaging app said that the majority of users had accepted the new privacy policy. While those who have not been confirmed will not receive any action, they will still receive regular notifications about their new policies.
“We will continue to send notifications on WhatsApp on a regular basis providing more information about updates and reminding those who haven’t had time to review and accept,” WhatsApp said in a statement.
