Project by the district, city of Freiburg, Badischer Sportbund and AOK Südlicher Oberrhein.
(BZ). Sedentary lifestyle is a major risk factor for obesity, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and other lifestyle diseases. The district office reminds of this in a press release on the so-called movement pass for children. This is a project of the district in cooperation with the city of Freiburg, the Badischer Sportbund and the AOK Südlicher Oberrhein.
Children have a natural urge to move, but they often have far too little opportunity to do so, it says in the message: Here computers, cell phones or tablets beckon, there the child is pushed in the stroller or taken to school by car. Since Corona, these developments are more noticeable than ever before. The district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald wants to set an impulse with the city of Freiburg, the Badischer Sportbund and the AOK. A program that was developed by the Office for Sport and Exercise in Stuttgart is to be implemented in the Freiburg region – to promote motor skills in children from two to seven years of age.
Thanks to its child-friendly design, it is particularly suitable for implementation in daycare centers, elementary schools, sports clubs and facilities that work with the relevant age group, according to the district office. For pedagogical specialists from daycare centers and associations as well as for parents, the exercise pass offers not only motor skills promotion, but also the opportunity to recognize need for support but also to recognize progress. Educators and trainers can be certified for the implementation of the concept in two 90-minute meetings. The certification, a game collection and a material bag are free according to the district office.
