CSI: Manhattan – S05 E19 – An Indian in New York – CSI: Manhattan

A man is shot and killed in a stampede on a commuter train. The victim, Amos Deleware, was the leader of an Indian nation on the verge of extinction: the Montiquans, the first occupants of Manhattan. The shot came from outside, fired by a father at his daughter’s lover. The stray bullet hit Amos, but Sid and Hawkes establish that he had already died from the ingestion of a whalebone. He was in conflict, over a property whose Montiquans had been wronged, with Leila Vara, importer of oriental crafts and whalebone. But the latter assures that the chief had come to restore the property to her shortly before her death, and to ask her forgiveness. Adam establishes that the splinters found in the chief’s thigh came from a hurling stick. Finn Wexford, the captain of the hurling team driven from his field becomes suspect, but again, the leader had come to warn him that he could stay. Stella shows that the whalebone that killed the chief was a traditional wolf trap and that her assassin is also Montiquan. The only other Montiquan from New York is Liam Connover, who the chef had asked to set up a gaming site to fund a future cultural center. But Liam cheated, and the boss decided to cancel everything. Liam killed him by making him swallow the dewlap in order to prevent it, to no avail.
