Gerindra Party agreed to carry Prabowo Subianto on 2024 presidential election. Secretary General of Gerindra’s DPP Ahmad Muzani said his party was waiting for an answer from Prabowo.
“We are waiting for Pak Prabowo’s answer and decision and we hope that Pak Prabowo’s decision will not take too long. So that all of us Branches, PAC, DPC, DPD, DPP, Regency DPR, Provincial DPR, City DPR, DPR RI (can) prepare even faster, It’s even earlier about Pak Prabowo’s success in the 2024 presidential election,” said Muzani after making a grave pilgrimage at the Tomb of KH M Abdul Wahab Hasbulloh, in Tambakberas Hamlet, Tambakrejo Village, Jombang District, Jombang Regency, Monday (31/5/2021).
Endorsement Gerindra to Prabowo in the 2024 presidential election, said Muzani, it was agreed at the Extraordinary Congress on August 6, 2020. Gerindra has agreed to nominate Prabowo as the General Chairperson as well as the Board of Trustees of the Gerindra Party, and agreed to carry him as a presidential candidate in 2024.
“Pak Prabowo said be patient, don’t be nervous, because I was assigned by the president to be the Minister of Defense. Give me the opportunity to carry out my duties as minister of defense and I will answer in time,” said Muzani.
While waiting for availability Prabowo, Muzani admitted that he had heated up the political machinery of Gerindra. Starting at the central, regional, and branch levels.
It also does not rule out the possibility of forming a coalition with other parties. He said, Gerindra has a special affinity with the PDI-P.
“In this period, we can honestly say that we are close to the PDI-P. Is that a sign that we will form a coalition there, we hope so,” he said.
Muzani said that Gerindra’s position was very strategic to form a political coalition with any party. Although in the previous period Gerindra and PDIP had time to fight each other for the victory of each candidate.
“All party friends Gerindra. Gerindra does not have a handicap, has no problem with any party, Gerindra has no problem with any party, so we feel that connecting with any party is no burden, because we feel that all parties are for the Republic of Indonesia, for the Red and White and for the Republic of Indonesia,” he continued.
Unfortunately, Gerindra did not divulge who the vice presidential candidate pair would be carrying to accompany Prabowo in the 2024 presidential election.
