Bavaria? Dortmund? Schalke? Not even close. The heart of most football fans from Bosseborn beats for VfL Bochum. The joy in the 500-inhabitant village over the promotion to the Bundesliga after eleven years in the second division is huge. “There were already a few questions about whether we would like to revive the old times in the coming season,” laughs Markus Finger, who founded the Bochum fan club Bosseborn in 2000 and looks back with pleasure on the bus journeys of yore. The Bosseborns’ love for VfL is unbroken.
