As far as Willemsen is concerned, the measures could expire after the first injection. “Then you would be able to do without 1,5 meters away somewhere in July,” he indicates. “The most vulnerable have already had the jab and now it is mainly young people’s turn. The main reason for introducing that rule was to take pressure off care. That is now happening at a rapid pace.”

Earlier today, outgoing Minister of Health Hugo de Jonge said that it is realistic that everyone is vaccinated before September 1. He did that in radio program WNL Op Zondag. If everyone is vaccinated, the mouth cap obligation and 1,5 meter rule could also expire.

Fennie Kostense, owner of club Steck Delft, also thinks that the one and a half meter society can be said goodbye earlier, but she wants clarity quickly about what to do until then. It seems that clubs can open – subject to conditions – from June 30, but there is still no clarity about what those conditions will be.
Does it concern access tests, a vaccination certificate, reservations? How many people can enter? “How are we going to do that practically. Then visitors have to queue, at one and a half meters, then you need quite a lot of space and we are right in the center,” says Kostense. “I understand that that may now happen as of June 30. That is of course quite soon.”
