At a training camp of the Dutch national team, some players refused to be vaccinated. Matthijs De Ligt also turned out not to be in favor: “It is not mandatory. I think you should be in charge of your own body.”
“The risk of infection is always there. I try to come into contact with as few people as possible outside the Dutch national team,” De Ligt said at the time.
The 21-year-old Juventus centre-back has since retraced his steps and told social media on Saturday that he was fully committed to getting vaccinated.
“I was not clear in my last interview. Just to clear up any doubts: I am absolutely in favor of the COVID-19 vaccination and will get vaccinated as soon as possible,” he wrote on Twitter.
