According to the report, Switzerland is the world champion in vaccination

US hat business triggers a storm of indignation with a “yellow star” for anti-vaccination campaigners

With advertising for patches in the shape of a yellow star and with the words “Unvaccinated”, a hat shop from the US state of Tennessee triggered a storm of indignation – and lost some of its business partners. In response to the product in the HatWRKS range, which is reminiscent of Nazi symbols, the traditional US hat maker company Stetson announced on Saturday (local time) that it would end its business relations with the company.

The HatWRKS store announced on its Instagram channel on Friday that it would add the patches to its range. The report featured a woman with a yellow star that read “Unvaccinated” on her black T-shirt. The Instagram post has since been deleted.

Under the hashtag #Hateworks, numerous Internet users were indignant about the product. “Your Nazi star patches are possibly the most insulting and anti-Semitic thing I’ve ever seen,” wrote one user on the shop’s Facebook page. The protest carried over into the real world: According to local media, a few dozen people demonstrated in front of the HatWRKRS store in the city of Nashville on Saturday. Some of them held a banner that read, “No Nazis in Nashville!” upwards.

The business meanwhile reacted with incomprehension to the outrage. «Are people so outraged by my contribution? But are you outraged by the tyranny that the world is experiencing? ”Wrote the company on Instagram. “If you don’t understand what is happening, it’s your fault, not mine.” Even before the incident involving the yellow star, HatWRKS had regularly weathered the corona containment measures and US President Joe Biden on the Internet.

Most recently, the controversial Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene linked the obligation to wear a mask in the corona pandemic with the persecution of Jews during the Nazi era. Her remarks have been sharply criticized by both the Democrats and the leadership of her own party.
