“Fabio did a great job, because 1 minute 45.1 seconds is something very very difficult,” he added.
Nevertheless, Bagnaia felt sure that he and Quartararo were still in balance. Therefore, Bagnaia is still optimistic that he can achieve the best results in the 2021 Italian MotoGP and beat his tough rival.
“I think our bike at this track is really balanced. In the first and last sectors we are very strong. In sector two we are very close, and in sector three they (Yamaha) are faster than us,” he added.
“So it’s really balanced and tomorrow I think the race could be really fun to watch. This could be a great fight.”
Furthermore, Bagnaia really wanted to stop Quartararo. Moreover, in the 2021 MotoGP standings, Bagnaia and Quartararo only differ by one point. Quartararo is first with 80 points, and Bagnaia is second with 79 points.
“I really just wanted to stop him (Fabio) on the first lap, because for sure he wants to open a gap and then see what happens.”
